3. I Don’t Listen
Aynzli Jones
[Mucha Marcha]
hip hop, reggae

Gaining internet notoriety with his infamous six-minute freestyles and glorious ragga-tinged rap flow, young MC Aynzli Jones, the Jamaica to London transplant harnesses that raw talent and puts it to wax. For fledgling label Mucha Marcha (born out of the Mucha Marcha parties at the now defunct Proud Camden), Aynzli Jones laces a hard hitting, boom bap attack track courtesy from Roots Manuva affiliate Steve Dub, yet manages to balance it out with his impeccable flow which switches up between ragga Jamaican patois, staccato’d UK hip hop flavour and an infectious singing style. Think the UK Lyrics Born or Fat Lip from The Pharcyde. He’s a definite one to watch, especially when his album drops next year which sees production from US heavyweights Salaam Remi (Amy Winehouse, Fugees, Nas) and Squeak E Clean (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, NASA Project, Fat Lip). Oh and check the Kate Moross artwork which ties it all back in together. ‘I Don’t Listen’ is out on a limited 7” in December.
